Darryl Berger
Founder and Chairman
Mr. Berger established The Berger Company in 1972. As an investor, developer, and financier of real estate, he has overseen major sophisticated real estate transactions of all types for five decades. He has served as a Trustee of both Vanderbilt University and Tulane University. He is at the forefront of the New Orleans hospitality industry, serving as the Chairman of the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and as a Board member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. In addition, he serves on the board of many civic, charitable, educational, and business institutions and over the course of a prestigious career, has been honored with numerous awards.
A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, Mr. Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and law degree from Tulane University, both with honors.
Ben Tiller
Executive Principal
Mr. Tiller is an Executive Principal of The Berger Company. He oversees several of the company’s major investments and has been involved in all real estate projects executed by the Berger Company over the past decade. Ben has spent his professional career in the commercial real estate and finance industry. Prior to joining the Berger Company, Ben was a Vice President in the Commercial Real Estate Lending practice for a regional bank. While a banker, Ben was active in all aspects of the commercial real estate arena with transactions in construction, acquisition and bridge financing for a broad range of projects including: multi-family housing, retail, office, industrial, hospitality and master-planned residential communities.
Mr. Tiller currently serves as a Commissioner of the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority. He is a board member of the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Mr. Tiller graduated from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Ryan Berger
Executive Principal
Mr. Berger is an Executive Principal of The Berger Company. His responsibilities include asset management of several of the company’s investments, with a particular focus on its parking assets, and oversight of the company’s internal operations. In addition to his TBC responsibilities, he serves as a Partner in Premium Parking of Central Texas, a highly sophisticated parking operating company. He sits on the Board of Directors of French Quarter Festivals Inc, 18th Ward, NOCCA Foundation, and WYES New Orleans.
Mr. Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Martha Heausler
Chief Financial Officer
Mrs. Heausler has been with The Berger Company since 2002. She was previously a tax manager with KPMG, LLP in New Orleans where she focused on corporations and partnerships, including real estate developers. She is a member of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Mrs. Heausler earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia.
Tim Frame
Senior Vice President, Design and Construction
Mr. Frame has been with The Berger Company since 2008 and is responsible for management of the design and construction process for all TBC real estate investments. He has over 18 years of experience in the project management of commercial real estate development, including high-rise mixed use projects, retail and hotels. Previously, he was a Senior Project Manager at J.E. Dunn Construction in Atlanta, GA. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) candidate.
Mr. Frame earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University.
Charles Floca
Senior Vice President, Design and Construction
Mr. Floca has been with The Berger Company since 1988. He has over 30 years of experience in the planning, design, and project management of commercial real estate development, including office buildings, retail and mixed use projects, and hotels. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and served as a commissioned officer on active duty with the United State Marine Corps for four and one-half years.
Mr. Floca earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas and a Master of Architecture degree from Texas A&M University.
Michael Pousson
Vice President, Asset Management
Mr. Pousson joined The Berger Company in 2019. He has extensive experience in managing a variety of property asset types. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Manager (CCIM), a Certified Property Manager (CPM), a Real Property Administrator (RPA), a LEED Accredited Professional, and a Louisiana licensed real estate broker. He is past president of the Louisiana IREM Chapter and the Louisiana Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
Mr. Pousson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University and a Master of Real Estate Development degree from Clemson University.
John Chapoton
Controller
Mr. Chapoton joined the Berger Company in 2019. Previously he served as a Manager at Horne, LLP where he provided outsourced controller functions for clients in a variety of industries and as an audit manager at LaPorte in New Orleans where he focused on privately held companies in a variety of industries, including real estate.
Mr. Chapoton earned a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi.
