Darryl Berger – Founder and Chairman

Mr. Berger established The Berger Company in 1972.  As an investor, developer, and financier of real estate, he has overseen major sophisticated real estate transactions of all types for four decades.  He serves as a Trustee of both Vanderbilt University and Tulane University.  He is at the forefront of the New Orleans hospitality industry, serving as the Chairman of the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation and as a Board member of the Convention and Visitors Bureau.  In addition, he serves on the board of many civic, charitable, educational, and business institutions and over the course of a prestigious career, has been honored with numerous awards.

A native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, Mr. Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and law degree from Tulane University, both with honors.

 

Brandon Berger – Principal

Mr. Berger is a Principal of The Berger Company.  His responsibilities include the asset management of the company’s retail, hotel, and parking portfolio; assisting in the loan procurement of construction and permanent financing on new and existing projects; and sourcing new deal opportunities for the company.  He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the New Orleans Convention Center and on the Board of Trustees of the National World War II Museum.

Mr. Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

 

Ben Tiller – Principal

Mr. Tiller has been with The Berger Company since 2007 and is a key executive and Principal in several major investments of the company.  He has worked on real estate projects throughout the greater New Orleans Metropolitan area, including overseeing the company’s extensive holdings in St. Tammany Parish.  Previously, he served as Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Lending for Colonial Bank in Tampa, Florida.  In addition to his business endeavors, he serves on the board of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, and several other local civic and charitable organizations.

Mr. Tiller earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.

 

Charles Riels – Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Riels has been with The Berger Company since its founding in 1972.  He has supervised real estate closings and other business transactional decisions involving hundreds of millions of dollars.  He is a member of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Riels earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.

 

Martha Heausler – Controller

Mrs. Heausler has been with The Berger Company since 2002.  She was previously a tax manager with KPMG, LLP in New Orleans where she focused on corporations and partnerships, including real estate developers.  She is a member of the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Mrs. Heausler earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia.

 

Charles Floca – Senior Vice President, Design and Construction

Mr. Floca has been with The Berger Company since 1988.  He has over 30 years of experience in the planning, design, and project management of commercial real estate development, including office buildings, retail and mixed use projects, and hotels.  He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and also served as a commissioned officer on active duty with the United State Marine Corps for four and one-half years.

Mr. Floca earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas and a Master of Architecture degree from Texas A&M University.

 

Tim Frame – Vice President, Design and Construction

Mr. Frame has been with The Berger Company since 2008 and is responsible for management of the design and construction process for all TBC real estate investments. He has over 15 years of experience in the project management of commercial real estate development, including high-rise mixed use projects, retail and hotels. Previously, he was a Senior Project Manager at J.E. Dunn Construction in Atlanta, GA. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) candidate.

Mr. Frame earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University.

 

Arnold Cooper – Senior Vice President, Property Manager

Mr. Cooper has been with The Berger Company since 1988.  He has extensive experience in managing shopping centers and malls, office buildings, apartment buildings, and parking facilities.  He has been a Certified Property Manager (CPM), a Louisiana licensed real estate broker, and a Realtor for over 35 years. He is a past president of the Louisiana IREM Chapter and presently serves on the board of the French Quarter Business Association.

Mr. Cooper earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Auburn University.

 

Allison Tiller – Vice President, Operations

Ms. Tiller is a Principal in The Berger Company and oversees corporate management and a wide array of the company’s assets.  Previously, she practiced law with the Financial Institutions Group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, and Flom, L.L.P. and was the Gulf Coast Recovery Project Director at Appleseed, a nationally-based non-profit legal organization.  She is treasurer of the NOCCA Institute, serves as a board member of the Downtown Development District of New Orleans and Hands On New Orleans, and is a trustee of the Jefferson Trust at the University of Virginia.

Ms. Tiller earned both her Bachelor of Arts and law degrees from the University of Virginia.

Mr. Berger is a Principal in The Berger Company and is the Founder of Berger Holdings, an affiliate of The Berger Company based in Phoenix, Arizona. Through the affiliated company, he makes retail, hospitality, multifamily, & parking investments, along with high-yield debt placements, with a geographic focus in the Western United States. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member, a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), and involved with numerous civic and charitable organizations.

Mr. Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University.

Ryan Berger – President; Ryan Berger Properties, LLC – Austin, Texas

Mr. Berger is a Principal in The Berger Company and is the Founder of Ryan Berger Properties, an affiliate of The Berger Company based in Austin, Texas.  Through the affiliated company, he seeks retail, hospitality, & parking investment and development opportunities and serves as President of Premium Parking of Central Texas, a highly sophisticated parking operating company. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Council of Austin and the Hill Country Conservancy.

Mr. Berger earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
